3 years old. 1095 days. 920 days in our care. She entered the foster care system just shy of 6 months old and has been in our home ever since. Some moments have been full of weariness, tears, struggles, and frustration. But we have also experienced so much laughter, love, amazement, and constant energy. "I still remember waiting for that 32nd week ultrasound. I was excited for another chance to see you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was supposed to be a quick appointment to make sure you were still growing well. When the ultrasound took about half an hour, I didn’t think much of it. When they ushered us down a small hallway and let us know a doctor would be in shortly, I still didn’t think twice. But then when they told us there were problems with your heart, my world came crashing down. Words like ‘trisomy 13, trisomy 18, Noonan & Williams syndrome’ were thrown around. And then the doctor mentioned termination. I couldn’t even believe it at first. There I was, 32 weeks pregnant, with a very viable human being inside of me, and she asked about abortion. When she brought it up again, my husband, bless his heart, looked at her and firmly said ‘it’s not even an option.’ Our daughter was born and operated on 8 weeks later for her heart issu

Meet Chandler, the Graphic Designer of Stand For Life. How long have you been with Stand For LIFE? I had the opportunity to join Stand for Life on the creative team back in 2017 and haven’t looked back since! Why do you enjoy working with Stand For LIFE? For the past few years I have been so grateful to be able to work towards something that is bigger than myself and truly isn’t just a job (especially not your typical graphic design job). I love that I’m able to be challenged and impacted every day by inspiring stories and to connect with women and men across the globe in such a meaningful way. Why are stories important? Stories are important because they have stood the test of time and are a way to pass messages of importance down from generation to generation. Stories are the things we don’t forget because they make an impact on us. They help us to see things in a new light and ultimately bind us together, making us stronger.
"At 27 years old, I definitely wanted to be a mom. I was dating someone who wasn't really what I was looking for, but I knew perfection didn't exist. After I found out I was pregnant, we began fighting more and more. We seemed to disagree on everything, especially when it came to our unborn baby. If we broke up, we would still have this baby connecting us throughout our lives and even more concerning for me, was the worry that this innocent child would be stuck in the middle of our mess and would never know how wonderful family can be. I was scared.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One night, after a particularly bad fight, I felt so desperate that I wondered if abortion or even suicide might be the best way out of my situation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thankfully, I made it through that night and prayed to God every day through the rest of my pregnancy to help me do what was best for my baby. "We were so excited to find out we were pregnant after a recent miscarriage. Because I was 35, we opted to have genetic testing done.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I never expected to receive the phone call saying that the baby was missing a sex chromosome, and had Turner's Syndrome. All Turners babies are girls because they only have one X chromosome. I was then asked by three different doctors if I wanted to abort, as they explained to me the many complications that could come along with the baby.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted this baby more than anything. God gave me another chance to have a child after I had lost one, and I wasn't going to let that go.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We continued the pregnancy educating ourselves on the possibilities that we could be facing. We went to our anatomy scan hoping for the best. We received the shock of our lives! Not only was the baby healthy, but it was a BOY!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We are now blessed with a perfectly healthy boy that fills our life and is his
